The Magic Behind Stardust in Little Hands​

💙 Hi, I'm Marsha - the mum behind Stardust in Little Hands. Thank you for being here — I’m so glad our worlds have crossed. 💛

We’re a family of four (plus 2 furry chaos agents😻), currently playing, creating, and exploring from our home in Perth, Western Australia.

Stardust in Little Hands began in my kitchen after my second baby arrived. With a newborn in one arm and a curious toddler in the other, I was on a mission to keep him happily engaged — using whatever was on hand.

​

What started with vinegar, bicarb soda, and food colouring soon became a journey into sensory play: fizzing colours🧪, magic milk🥛, skittles in water🍬…🎨. His eyes lit up ✨ and I started filming those moments to remember his sweet reactions.​

As I explored, I realised I wanted more than just fun, I wanted :

• Safety — non-toxic, food grade ingredients.

• Sustainability — materials that love the planet as much as our kids.

 

So I began experimenting with rice, pasta, chickpeas and colours — slowly crafting blends that were beautiful, sensory-rich, and full of intention.

I also realised something else — how time-consuming it all was, especially with little ones running around 🐾. That’s when I knew I wanted to help other mums too. To take the pressure off, and create ready-made sensory kits filled with care, colour, and convenience — so they don’t have to do it all themselves 💛.

As a mum, I know how important it is to be mindful of what touches our children’s hands — and what might (intentionally or not 🙃) end up in their mouths. Even if they’re technically past the mouthing stage… those intrusive snacky thoughts still win sometimes 😅

Our Products will be:

• Non-Toxic, using food-grade ingredients wherever possible.

• Transparent labelling — no mystery ingredients.

• Gentle on hands, gentle on tummies (though still not a snack).

🌿For the World They’ll Grow Up In 🌏

I’ve always been eco-conscious — it’s something that’s been important to me long before I became a mum. But becoming a parent deepened that sense of responsibility. We only have one Earth, and I believe it’s our job to take care of it — for our children, and for the generations that follow. 🌏

That’s why all of our packaging is chosen with care: Recyclable, Reusable, or Compostable/Biodegradable — No microplastics.

I’m always learning, always evolving, and will continue to seek out packaging solutions that are gentle on the planet and safe for curious little hands.

There may be changes along the way as better materials become available, but my commitment to Earth-friendly play will never waver. Because protecting their future starts with the small choices we make today.
